Below is a screenshot of a real CoveritLive Live Chat which appears in the Live Chat tab here.
The Live Chat allows you to have a live moderated conversation with anyone viewing the webcast.
The chat will only be open whenever a the moderator is actively in the chat console panel.
Step 1
CoveritLive Account Setup
Do you have a CoveritLive Account?
Public-i uses a well-tested 3rd party chat application called CoveritLive. Before you can create any live chats, you must have a CoveritLive account at http://www.coveritlive.com.
If you have not already been asked to setup a CoveritLive account, please do so then contact us with your login so we can provide you with a premium account..
Step 2
Creating a new live chat
- Click Add New on left menu (1)
- Choose a Title for your webcast (2)
- Choose a Category (3)
- Select a start date & time (4)
- Click Next

- Altcast code: the only numbers you need to create the CoveritLive event in Connect is the Altcast Code (highlighted in the image below).
- Copying the Altcast Code: unfortunately it is not possible to copy only the Altcast Code, therefore you must highlight the whole window, right click and copy the entire text.
- Paste the code into Notepad or Word and copy the Altcast Code from there (i.e. in the example below, the alcast code is 725988df21).

Adding Coverit Live Chat to Webcasts
To add the Live Chat to a webcast, simply follow these steps:
- Log into your CMS (http://cms.public-i.tv)
- Find the webcast you want to add the chat to
- Click Edit Webcast for that webcast
- Scroll down to find the CoveritLive ID box
- Enter the Coveritlive altcast code into this box as below
- Press Submit

Testing the Page
To test the page and check the chat has been included correctly, click the View Interactive link from the corresponding Edit Webcast menu, as below:
